ATI Mobility Radeon HD3870 Windows XP sp3 32 bit

Like the title says I am in need of Windows XP sp3 32 bit drivers for a single ATI Mobility Radeon HD3870 video card. If possible in the near future I would like to add a second card like this and a crossfire cable. I am assuming I will need different drivers to achieve. This would be my first dual video card build, so I don't know but, that's why I am here asking for help. The Laptop I have been working on is an Alienware M9700i-r1 aka M9750. This build is a Christmas gift for my oldest son. He has been wanting a XP build like this for quite some time now. This project has turned out to be most like others I get myself into. Way more than I expected as I purchased this and I didn't expect to wait a month to get it shipped to me as well as the replacing the motherboard, or have such a hard time finding XP drivers for this particular video card. My last resort would be a go7950gtx sli setup, but I don't want to go down that route. I would absolutely deeply appreciate driver help. Best Regards, Ryan

I figured out a solution for now so I'm reporting back hoping to help someone else in a similar situation. I'm not saying there aren't other ways but, this is what worked for me. Right now there is only a single HD3870 running in this Alienware m9750 successfully running Far Cry 3 on low to medium settings. I'm hoping two cards will work with the same driver or within the same ATI catalyst as well. I will report back once a slave card and CF cable are installed. I didn't have any luck at all until coming across this software called Mobility modder. The final version was created in 2008 you can find it here http://mekal.narod.ru/soft/ati-for-notebook/ After following instructions to the point the drivers in folder were modified by this tool and instead of letting the catalyst software install the driver from there like I tried before. I closed down the installation software from there and went into the device manager to manually update driver and directed it to the file of the modified driver of catalyst 10.6. I tried this with catalyst 10.7 and it didn't work so I stopped there. Although I did successfully install with an earlier version catalyst using this method but I don't remember which one. Just a reminder always uninstall drivers before installing new ones. Good luck to you all! ~ Ryan
