  • New Hard disk not being recognised

    Hi,
I have an ASUS EE Model X101CH and have just replaced the internal hard drive (Seagate Momentus Thin 320GB)
I am trying to install Windows XP Pro. using an external CD/DVD drive on the USB port.

Everything seemed to be proceeding OK but after the initial files are transferred from CD to Memory (I assume) I am informed that
no hard disk can be found !!
I checked that the new hard disk is working OK by fitting it in an external USB enclosure and connecting to another Laptop. I was able to transfer
a couple of test files and read them OK. The disk is formatted NTFS.

The Disk appears to use a SATA interface but I'm wondering if I need to install a driver and if so, how can I do this?

I'm also offered the possibility of using SCSI drivers from quite a long list, but don't know if this is applicable, or if it is, which one to choose

I would be grateful for any advice..... Thank You
