CanoScan N670U driver for 64-bit Windows 7

    CanoScan N670U driver for 64-bit Windows 7

    Hi,

    I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I have been unable to find a driver for my CanoScan N670U scanner. I realize that Canon has decided not to support it on Windows 7, but I am unwilling to throw away a perfectly good scanner and contribute to waste for no other reason then Canon wanting to make more profit!

    I looked diligently around your site before posting and all I found was this:

    This does claim to be a driver for my scanner for windows 7, but it does not specify whether it is for 32-bit or 64-bit. It has been my experience that drivers designed for 32-bit environments do NOT work in 64-bit.

    On a side note, the imaging software that I will be using in conjunction with the software is GIMP 2.6.11. If the driver is not compatible with that software I will also need instructions on how to best use the scanner in order to get images on my desktop.

    Can you help me?

      On oficial site said - There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver

      I can suggest you to try use tour scanner in Virtual Windows XP machine.
      Just install it in your Win 7

        VueScanner cost$ --> I am running Windows 7 64bit and was able to use my CanoScan N670U by Installing Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 at no additional cost

        After install the software loaded and the only trick was to click the "USB" dropdown in the virtual machine menu at the top of the screen and select canoscan
