Epson Stylus Photo 785epx driver for ppc mac OS 10.4

Epson has no driver for this printer for my NON-Intel machine for OS 10.4. I understand I should use a Gimp of Guttenprint driver, but I haven't been able to get one to work. It was okay until I did a system reinstall, and now it's quit, but I don't know how to get it back.

I can use the 785 driver (not designated epx) for some things, but it freezes in InDesign.

That driver says it works only on Intel machines--hence the problem.

I finally got it working by replacing my Printers folder with the folder from Previous Systems, but I'm still not quite sure what driver it's using. Printer Setup reports "5.2.6-pre1", but I suspect it is confused.

I notice the restored folder has a couple of adobe plugins--it's possible that's what I was missing.
