Samsung NetBook, NB28, drivers for Win XP SP3 ?
I have a new Samsung NB28, tiny thing, no internal CD. It came with Free DOS as the only O/S.
I have a legit old system builder’s copy of Win XP-SP2, which loaded just fine, verified, authenticated, and etc. Windows Update then put on 76 updates, then SP3, then about 40 more updates.
The screen resolution never looked quite right, and the WiFi and BlueTooth were not detected.
I finally found a web site with (allegedly) the correct Drivers for running Win-XP-SP3 as the O/S on the little NB28.
Suddenly everything worked right, and looked right, so far, so good.
However, after the next re-boot, I continually got start-up and shut down errors, which seem to be graphics driver related…
taskmanager.exe 0xc000012d
userinit.exe errors
shutdown hangs on “PersistWndName”
Everything that I “Google” for the above errors tells me that either I have the wrong Graphics Driver, or that I have graphics-related DLL errors.
The chipset in entirely Intel, all in one board, Atom 400 processor, and Intel Graphics Media 3150 with driver file version 6.14.10.5260.
Booting up has become a 10 to 20 minute task with multiple repeats before Windows will finally start. When it is up and running, the screen resolution (1068X600, 32-bit) looks good, all MS Office products, and every other piece of software works…
I have done all the usual scans for registry errors and scans for viruses and malware and etc.
Under computer, system, hardware, device manager, there are no conflicts reported, no exclamation marks, and no yellow question marks…
Also, under Device Manager, the graphics card is listed twice, identically in every way for both entries.
I appreciate any suggestions.
