  • I think this is a typical problem I cannot resolve

I have a wireless Micro Innovations KB985W wireless keyboard and optical mouse. I have just gone to their site and downloaded the newest drivers for their keyboard (I run XP Pro 32 bit) with no problem and the keyboard works fine as it always has. Now to the problem I cannot find any downloads for the KB985W mouse and that is what I am having a problem with. All of a sudden (which I hear is typical) I cannot get precise movement of the cursor as I navigate around any page I am on. I can make do by when the mouse freezes to use the scroll wheel (roll it a bit and then move, but with some finessing the cursor into position. Have tried all recommended fixes including moving the signal box as close to the mouse as I can (less than 18" away), and clicking the button located on the bottom of the mouse to change signals. Also have tried reinstalling with original software to no avail. What would be nice is a new mouse driver update, but I cannot seem to locate one.

Any sage answers out there for this "newbie" to your forum?

    Thanks

Found the answer in another forum...

Bring the receiver closer, this model is legacy "older model" and has no interference filtering...

So bring it closer like 10 inches or less from the actual mouse... changing the batteries helps if the batteries have been in for quite some time...

Also disconnect and reconnect the receiver to discharge any static coming from the port and try the steps below...

    Try these steps:

1st Change the batteries with (BRAND NEW ONES)

2nd Bring the receiver real close to the Keyboard and Mouse.

    Now Synchronize:

Note*In older models the Synch or Connect button may be under the one the legs of the Keyboard.

Step 1 – Press the "connect" button on top of the receiver once

Step 2 – Press the synch button underneath

I considered this post as solved, thank you.
