HP laserjet 1018 to work with Mac-mini-Lion

How can a HP Laserjet 1018 to work under a Lion-Mac-mini computer (OS is Lion)? I USB connected and I loaded the relevant drivers but although it appears as ready to work, it does not respond at all. Is there any special driver needed for Lion OS?

theres no any driver s for Apples's OS's on HP site for your printer.
