i`m from Venezuela, now i teel you my problem:

i have a "Note Book Acer Travel Mate 340T", (Pentium3-320RAM-80GBHDD-WinXpPRO,SP2,32bit)

Ok, my problem is the external combo unit (DVD-CD-FDC)
tha not work on Windows XP SP2,
but yes work in Save Mode (to use it i have to boot in Safe Mode, to can use a DVD or CD-ROM)

Win configure it how TEAC DV-28E-A, I believe is a driver problem,

The Unit is (ACER EASY LINK, MODELF-2205-00)






In WindowsXP Safe mode, it work perfect, but in normal mode dont work

you need to try to update your Win XP to Service Pack 4
seems like driver is already installed in OS, thats why it works in Safe Mode
try to dp latest updates for your OS
