I am looking for DVD ROM driver for Compaq nc6220 laptop using Windows XP. It just stopped working. I have been on every driver site imagineable and none of them (even Compaq/HP!!) carry the necessary drivers for this device!!! Can anyone advise me, other than having to replace it or substitute it for an external device?

no, the device does not show in "my computer." under device manager it is listed as Matshita UJDA765aDVD/CDRW, but it has a comment of " Windows cannot load this driver. it may be corrupted or missing (code 39)." can you help?
